How to deposit cash into Wealthsimple at Canada Post

Take Canadian cash, government photo ID and the app's deposit QR code to a participating Canada Post counter. There's no fee.

Before you go

Count the money and note the total before leaving. Charge your phone, check the counter's opening hours and decide which account should receive the deposit. You'll have less to sort out at the till.

Use the in-app locator. Post Points and Pick & Drop outlets can't accept deposits.

Make the deposit

1. In the app, choose Move → Branch Services → Deposit cash.

2. Select your Chequing account, then View QR code. The destination can't change after scanning.

3. Let the clerk scan it, then hand over your money.

4. Keep the receipt until the deposit appears.

A photo of the receipt gives you a backup. Keep the original while support investigates, and use Wealthsimple's own support channels for account details.

The extra Business Chequing limit

Business Chequing also has a shared C$9,000 rolling 24-hour limit across directors, alongside individual limits. The first limit reached applies.
