Who can qualify
The standard referral offer is for an eligible new Wealthsimple client who is a Canadian resident, has reached the age of majority where they live, opens an eligible account as the primary account holder, and meets the referral funding rules.
If you already had a Wealthsimple Trade, Crypto, Managed Investing, or Chequing account before this referral, do not assume the new-client bonus applies. The seven-day rule is a limited correction window around first funding, not a general existing-client offer.

Wealthsimple's current terms allow a referral code to be applied within seven days of funding a Wealthsimple account for the first time, as long as the referral requirements are otherwise met. In the app, open the Rewards Centre and look for the referral-code option.
If it has been more than seven days since your first funding, Wealthsimple directs clients to contact support. Do not assume a late referral will be added retroactively.
What counts toward the $100 minimum
The current terms require at least $100 in qualifying net deposits from outside Wealthsimple. Eligible funding can include bank deposits, qualifying institutional transfers, and eligible transfers from an external crypto wallet.
Internal Wealthsimple transfers, peer-to-peer transfers inside Wealthsimple, promotional credits, and funding from Wealthsimple affiliates do not count. Withdrawals during the funding window can reduce net deposits.
When the $25 arrives
Wealthsimple's current terms say the base $25 bonus is applied to an active Wealthsimple chequing account within 24 hours after a successful qualifying referral's funding has been completed and processed. You must be the primary owner of the receiving chequing account.
The bonus itself must remain at Wealthsimple for 180 days from the day it is applied or Wealthsimple may recover it. The referral is not a reason to open an account that does not otherwise fit what you need.
